Embarked: Bringing Souls to Christ through Social Media

“See that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength.”

Social media is a very useful tool when we decide to serve others and carry a positive message to different communities. Nowadays, more and more people are using this tool for entertainment or inspiration. Unfortunately, there is not much religious content shared, and this leads more people to turn to social media for entertainment and comedy. I think that as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we have a work to do in spreading the gospel through this tool.

When I am navigating through social media, I usually try to find inspiring messages that motivate me to be a better version of myself. I love to learn from other people’s experiences and strengthen my testimony of Jesus Christ by listening to their testimonies. I also know that there are many people who would love to receive a message of love and I can be the person who helps them find that content they are looking for.

As we read in D&C 4:1 - 3, the field is white already to harvest. This means there are many people ready to receive the message of the Gospel of Jesus Chist. During my time serving as a full-time missionary, I met many people who, at first, did not seem prepared to accept the gospel. However, most of them listened to the message of the Restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ and decided to change their lives and follow him. Remembering how I felt when someone accepted the Gospel while I was on the mission makes me want to be an instrument in God’s hands to spread this marvelous message of peace, love, hope, and salvation. I think that social media can help me achieve that goal with the different features that allow me to share the Gospel with thousands of people.
