Wilfry Gil Ventura

Hello! My name is Wilfry Gil Ventura. I am from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, currently living in Utah as an international student in the BAS in Communications degree at Ensign College. Since I was young, even though my parents did not have higher education, they always wanted to help my siblings and me achieve what they could not in their lives. As a result, I learned the importance of diligence and discipline in continually learning new things and striving to excel in every job I do.

My constant search for growth and knowledge has defined me and motivated me to open new doors of opportunity. One of the greatest accomplishments I have achieved through this constant search is the ability to communicate in English. With this knowledge, I worked for a contact center company, where I learned to provide excellent customer service, and over 10 months, I was promoted to assistant supervisor. Subsequently, I continued my learning and applied my analytical skills to apply for a WFM (Workforce Management) course at the company. After receiving one of the highest scores among participants, I was promoted to the workforce department as a Real-Time Analyst and, after a year, as a Forecasting Specialist.

Notwithstanding these achievements, I have always been interested in the world of communication and marketing because I believe that with this knowledge, I can positively impact people’s lives. As a communication professional, I will be able to help others know that nothing is impossible and that, regardless of people’s background, they can achieve greatness if they are diligent and persistent in learning. I think I am the person in charge of my life, and I cannot limit myself to learning. Seeing myself as my only competition makes me have more motivation to constantly improve.

As Thomas A. Edison’s phrase quoted at the beginning suggests, successful people don’t say they don’t want to do something; they take on what others don’t want to do and achieve success by doing so.
